Inspired by the shapes of seashells, I created this object from a large drawing on 300-gram paper. After folding and gluing the shape, I drew lines across it that evoke the surf. The whimsical lines give the shell the character of an oyster, which also has wavy edges. It is a sculpture that can stand freely in a space, on the floor like a beach find—a souvenir from the sea. The movement of water and wind are “forms” that I often depict in my work. It is the dynamism of nature, to which I feel connected.
